Lisa Livingston
I am a licensed addiction and mental health therapist. I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology in July 2012 and my Master of Science in counseling in May 2015, and I became a licensed addiction counselor in December 2015. I got my LPCC in November 2017 and my CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional) in 2018. I have been practicing for a little over ten years; for five of those years, I worked at a dual-diagnosis chemical dependency/ mental health residential treatment center for adults. What I enjoy about being a therapist is helping people heal from their traumas and live healthier lifestyles through self-discovery and sobriety. I specialize in trauma addiction and am in training for IFS (Internal Family Systems). I prefer the IFS model because it integrates with other therapeutic modalities. I enjoy working with all ages but prefer working with teenagers and adults. I have done couples counseling but prefer individuals.
Deb Dobbins
The reason I started this career as therapist was to help people who could not get quality care for their mental health, like my brother. I continue to feel this way, but now I see the need and the struggles people go through when trying to live with their mental health. I know how hard mental health can be for a person because I have had my own mental health issues and I watched my brother struggle with bipolar disorder. It can be hard for the person struggling with mental health issues but it can also be hard for the people that love that person, so if I can ease that struggle for them, I know I am doing the right type of work. I have been in the health care field since 2018, when is started my internship and I have been a licensed LPCC for two years. I like working with all populations of clients, but I am drawn to clients who struggle with trauma, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. I love to work with children, but I enjoy working with all ages of people and genders. I would say my preferred modality would be integrative. I believe you work with what modality would fit the client best. I have my bachelors degree in psychology and my master degree in clinical mental health. I have done trainings for trauma, DBT, grief, anxiety, depression, post-partum depression, and other mood disorders. I do individual therapy and also enjoy doing couples therapy.
Tabitha Cadmus
Hello! My name is Tabitha Cadmus. A little about me: I'm 39 years old, I am married with two extremely bright and vivacious daughters and four pets. Needless to say, our home can be pretty chaotic. I am a Licensed Practicing Counselor, currently providing therapy services through Greater Minnesota Community Services. I am also a Licensed School Counselor and have a Masters of Arts in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School in Minnetonka, MN. In my therapy work, I prefer to utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as my therapy modality, I LOVE doing EMDR and seeing people come to their own insights organically. However I also utilize Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian and Dialectial Behavioral Therapy as appropriate for the client. My preferred age of client is 10-25, but I am willing to work with people of any age range. At this point, I consider my specialties to be working with children, EMDR, and being an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor. I really enjoy working with clients all along the gender and sexuality spectrum and do my best to honor preferred prounouns and names. I prefer to work with individuals instead of couples, largely because I have not had much experience in couple's work and am uncertain whether I would be as helpful in this role, but may be willing to try couples therapy. I have been doing therapy for around 4-5 years now and what I enjoy most is learning people's stories, how they think, then using these insights to help them feel better about themselves, their world, or both. I love to help people acknowledge their strengths, I think this is very important to a good relationship and to begin a good therapeutic journey.
Kristin Appel
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and have been in a clinical mental health role for the past two years, prior to that I worked as a social worker in residential mental health and chemical dependency centers, long term care, and providing community and school based mental health services. I don't have a particular specialty as I prefer to pull from multiple modalities depending on each person's individual needs and learning style. I utilize a person-centered, strengths based approach. I work with individuals ages 5 and up and have training in multiple types of therapy including: cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, emotional freedom technique/tapping, trauma informed therapy, grief therapy, nutrition and mental health and play therapy techniques. What I enjoy most about being a therapist is getting to witness the extraordinary resiliency and strength each person has, no matter what challenges they may face in life. I believe everyone has what they need to heal inside them before they step into the room for a therapy session, my job is simply to help them access this.
